Summary of the beekeeping season in our apiary

September has arrived, which means it’s time to summarize the beekeeping season. We visited the apiary, where our bees are already being prepared for wintering.

Nutiqus’ bees started this season as early as March, when temperatures in southern Poland exceeded 25 degrees Celsius.

The very early spring exposed the awakening plants to spring frosts, so there were concerns that the unpredictable weather might spoil the first honey harvest…

Fortunately, in Małopolska, where our bees live, the entire season can be considered successful and exceptionally busy. Everything bloomed at once, so there was plenty of work! On average, we managed to harvest up to 25 kg of honey from each hive.

In southern Poland, beekeepers also harvested honeydew honey, which reigns supreme among varietal honeys. It’s just a pity that honeydew occurs periodically, and sometimes we have to wait a few years for it!

The end of the honey harvest doesn’t mean the end of work in the apiary. Autumn is the time to prepare our winged friends for the arrival of cold and winter.

While waiting for spring, we will enjoy Nutiqus’ sweet honey.
