The final of the 7th edition of the National Forwarding and Logistics Olympiad was held at the University of Gdansk’s Department of Economics on Friday, April 14th.
The Olympiad is aimed at secondary school students interested in the field of transport, forwarding and logistics and, in particular, to those who are training for the professions of forwarding agent, logistics technician, port and terminal operator and warehouse logistics operator. The event is organised by the Faculty of Economics of the University of Gdansk. It is under the auspices of the Ministry of Education and Science.
This year, 5,468 students from 272 schools across Poland took part in the Olympiad. The best 30 qualified for the final.
During the finals, the participants solved tasks in the field of transport, forwarding and logistics, which were prepared by the Main Olympic Committee, consisting of experts from the Faculty of Economics at the University of Gdansk.
In addition to the material and financial prizes and the exemption from the theoretical part of the professional examination, the Olympiad finalists had the opportunity to receive index cards from the Faculty of Economics at Gdansk University.
We are very pleased to be able to support the organisers of the Olympiad once again with the funding of the prize for the first place, which was presented by our Vice-President Małgorzata Lepa to the winner – Konrad Kożuch.
This year, we have also decided to make a contribution of substance – Magdalena Lepa-Roman, our Maritime Forwarding Manager, told the participants of the Olympiad about the work of a forwarding agent. During her presentation, she discussed topics such as: what is important when working as a forwarding agent, what the forwarding process looks like in the export and import mode, she also talked about unforeseen difficulties in a complicated shipping process.
We are delighted to be able to contribute to the development of the future workforce in the freight forwarding industry. Huge congratulations to all of the finalists!
