Support and education of young TSL cadres

We associate April with the arrival of spring, and this spring – with DEVELOPMENT and GROWTH!
Not only ours, but also the future cadres in the TSL industry.
How do we add our contribution to the development of the young?

Again, we have a surprise for you! (See the end of this text).

Internships

We regularly take on trainees. First, we show them what work is like in the various departments, and then, on the basis of the competencies they have, we give them the opportunity for development and further study, with the idea that we are training future personnel. We have many employees who have just gained their first apprenticeships with us. Those who stand out during their apprenticeship and fit into our organizational culture are offered permanent employment, usually initially in the documentation department. We have several forwarders who, after their internship and experience in the documentation department, were already so familiar with the forwarding process that we gave them a chance in the forwarding department and they proved themselves!

Knowledge/Olympics

For many years we have been involved in the organization of the National Freight Forwarding and Logistics Olympiad organized by the Faculty of Economics of the University of Gdansk under the auspices of the Ministry of Education and Science. The Olympiad is aimed at high school students interested in the topics of transport, forwarding and logistics, especially those studying the professions of freight forwarding technician, logistics technician, port and terminal operation technician and warehouseman-logistician.

In addition to organizational support and sponsorship of the main prize in the Olympiad, we also take care of substantive input with emphasis on practical aspects. Magdalena Lepa-Roman, our head of the forwarding department, brings the Olympiad participants closer to the work of a forwarder. During her lecture, she talks about, among other things, how the forwarding process looks like in export and import and about unforeseen difficulties in the complex forwarding process.

This year 4,834 students from 259 schools from all over Poland joined the Olympiad. The top 30 qualified for the finals.

Activity/sports

Since last year, we have been supporting a sports club dedicated to the training of children and young people – Sport Polytechnic. On this occasion, we became a sponsor of an amazing team of U15 Cadets, who with their strength and determination impressed us greatly! Sportowa Politechnika is a club that since its inception in 2013 has been working to train young talented youth. The commitment and determination of the club’s managers and coaches have brought results, and since the 2020/2021 season the club has maintained its position as a leader in the ranking of the Best Female Youth Basketball Clubs in Poland!

In the ongoing season, our favorite young basketball players lost only one game and won the championship of the Pomeranian-Warmińsko-Mazurian Zone. Now they are facing a battle in the semifinals of the Polish Cadet U15K Youth Championships, which will be held April 26-28, 2024.

Physical activity is very important to us at Nautiqus, and we use sports to integrate. Nearly half of our employees participate every year in a unique event – One Terminal Run – a run on the container terminal, organized by Hutchison Ports Gdynia (GCT). The Container Terminal Run is a unique event not only because the area is inaccessible on a daily basis – all proceeds from the event are donated to charity each year.

This year, for the second time, we are sponsoring a run for children around the container terminal – ONE TERMINAL RUN KIDS. Young runners will be able to test their abilities in age groups.

The run will take place at the GCT terminal in Gdynia on June 23 from 15:00 to 17:00.
